Please can you tell me how I select Photoshop Beta from the drop down menu in Lightroom Classic?
Thanks, Geoff

If you have installed Photoshop beta, then you should be able to select it. Photoshop beta should be installed before you update/install Lightroom Classic, so you may have to uninstall/reinstall Lightroom Classic if that was not the case.

Thanks Johan, Is there any chance I will loose my settings in Lightroom Classic if I uninstall/reinstall?

No. When you uninstall Lightroom Classic you will be asked if you want to keep the preferences. Keep them and after reinstalling it will be like nothing ever happened. Your catalog is not affected no matter what you choose.

Hi, I did as you suggested; I uninstalled PLC from the Cloud, restarted my Mac, then reinstalled PLC.

When I selected Edit In, it didn't offer me The Beta version, but PS2023.

However, when I opened the image, it welcomed me to PH24, but still says Adobe Photoshop 2023 in the top window (it has the new Generative Fill so I know it's new).

Problem solved(ish), thank you. I guess Adobe will sort this minor glitch in time.

Thanks again,

Geoff

Not entirely true. If you install the Photoshop Beta after you installed LR Classic and the regular release of Photoshop, LR will automatically go to the Beta if you select "Edit in Photoshop".

An update for the regular Photoshop will overrule this again! Here's what happened here today:

I have LR Classic and Photoshop installed plus the Photoshop Beta. Until this morning, LR would open Photoshop Beta if I selected "Edit in Photoshop".

Then, an update for the regular Photoshop was installed. Lightroom would no longer send me to the PS Beta after that, instead it would go to the just updated new Photoshop.

Solution: Uninstall Photoshop Beta (NOT Lightroom, no need to do that) and then re-install Photoshop Beta.

From that moment on, Lightroom will assume you want to go to the Beta again.

Which version of Lightroom do you have install?

Since version 12.3 you can choose the appropriate Photoshop version from the dropdown list in the preferences.

If you have Photoshop and Photoshop Beta installed you should see both versions in the list.

12.4 installed. Lightroom's Preferences for "External editing" does give me a 'dropdown' of only 1 item, it does not give me the option to choose between PS and PS Beta.

I think you're on a windows machine. It's a problem on the Windows version of Lightroom. On a Mac you should see both versions.

Yep, sorry, I guess I should have mentioned that. I'm using Windows 10 and LR Classic 12.4, with both Photoshop and Photoshop Beta (latest versions as of June 27 2023) installed.

It's possible that this will be fixed in one of the next updates. But it isn't sure.

A workaround is to start first the appropirate version of Photoshop you like to use for editing from Lightroom and put it in the background. Then this version will be used with "Edit in Photoshop...".
