I would like to subscribe ONLY to Lightroom Classic

Community Beginner ,
Sep 15, 2024 Sep 15, 2024

I would like to subscribe to Lightroom Classic for $10/month.  Unfortunately, when I go to buy, the only option is to get LR Classic AND Photoshop for $20/month.

Is there a way to just get LR Classic?

Thanks,

Cliff

You'll find the 20 GB Photography plan ($10 a month) on this page: https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/plans.html

It includes Lightroom Classic, Lightroom (cloud based) and Photoshop.

You can install LrC only if you want, and cloud storage is optional.

To explain- "they are getting charged $20/month for LR Classic and PS?"

Photography Plan  + 20GB storage = US $9.99/month

Photography Plan  + TB storage = US $19.99/month

If you only install Lightroom-Classic you will never need more than the 20GB plan provides, or not use at all!.

The extra 1TB storage might only be needed if you plan to use Lightroom Mobile Apps and store photos in the Lightroom Cloud.

No.

The Photography Plan 20GB is the only source for Lightroom-Classic.

Just install only the app you want.

thanks for the quick reply.  I've seen several people saying that they get LR Classic for $10/month.  Has this changed and now they are getting charged $20/month for LR Classic and PS?  Or are you saying that if I only download the LR Classic app I'll only get charged $10/month?

Thanks,

It turns out that the 20 GB LrC plan doesn't appear under All plans.

You have to click on Photo under Categories on the left to see it.

thank you so much.  I wonder if Adobe knows that they've got different prices for the same package

@cliff_5748 Where are you seeing that?

There are 3 different Photography Plans, each with a different bundle of apps and different Adobe Cloud storage allowances.

Compare pricing & plans | Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan

You're looking for the Photography Plan (20GB) which includes Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, Photoshop (desktop and iPad) plus 20GB Cloud storage for US$9.99/month.

You pay for the entire plan regardless of how many apps you use from the  bundle. If you only ever use Lightroom Classic, you'll still pay $9.99/month. Most Lightroom Classic users also use Photoshop but, of course, you don't have to.

Thanks, Per, John and Rob.  Somehow I ended up on a page that only offered the 1TB ($20/month option).

One more question,  If you choose to pay monthly, are you commited for 12 months or can you cancel for a few months and then re-subscribe a few months later?

@cliff_5748

Unlike other Cloud plans, all Photography Plans are only available as 12 month commitments at a time. There is no "Monthly, cancel anytime" option. The plan automatically renews unless you cancel before the plan expires.

You can either choose "Annual, paid monthly" or "Annual, prepaid". Same total expenditure over 12 months (the life of the plan) either way.
