Image loses rating after Denoise AI, hence disabling the filter by rating when editing

Hello!

I recently found a bug that disrupts my workflow. I usually rate my images by stars. After that I go through them and edit the starred images. The Rated filter kept turning off by itself and I found out that this happens after I apply "Denoise AI" to an image. If the initial image has a rating, after applying Denoise AI, the resulted images should also inherit that image rating. Maybe this is the reason why the Rated Filter keeps turninf off automatically.

Please note: if I do not use Denoise AI, after editing an image, the Rated Filter is still on when I navigate to the next image. The fact that the filter keeps de-activating is really frustrating.

I am using Lightroom Classic (latest version as of today) on a Macbook M1 Pro.

I hope this issue can be solved in the next update. Thank you!

This is a FAQ. The denoised image inherits the rating, or at least it should. That is not the reason the filter is reset, however. The filter is always reset when a new image is generated, to avoid confusion if the new image does not fit the filter criteria and so it is filtered out. People may think that denoise did not work at all if they don't see the result. To stop the filter from being reset, click the padlock in the upper right corner of the filter bar.

Thank you for the update. I did see that FAQ but I could not find the lock option, here is a screenshot.

That's the filter bar in the film strip. You need to go to the filter bar at the top of the main Library module window. Press the backslash key if you not see a filter bar there.

That seems to do the trick. Did not know about that option, thank you very much!
