I updated to LrC 14.1 today on Windows 11.

Now when I go to import new photos, my Import Presets, Develop Settings, and Metadata presets that I always apply on import are missing.

Anyone else seeing this issue?  What's the solution?

A screenshot may help

Although I suspect that if you move your mouse pointer over the gray area in the far right column, and right click, you may find that Apply During Import is turned off. (unchecked)

Thanks.  I just checked and can confirm that Apply During Import is turned on (checked).

Here are screenshots showing that this update appears to have reset my presets.

I have numerous presets that I use for various projects.  They have migrated through Lightroom updates for many years without issue.  As you can see, with this update they have vanished.

I just downgraded to LrC 14.0.1 to see if that might help, but it did not.  The presets are still missing.

Ah that screenshot helps. I completely misunderstood.

Bring up a photo in the develop module, and over in the Presets Panel, click on the + symbol as to Manage the presets. Did many get unchecked?

/Edit/Followup/ Yes, if you stored your presets with the catalog, and then the file with the stored presets is missing, then what you are seeing could be caused by the stored presets going missing.

Did the folder location for the current catalog change? Could you copy from the previous folder to the new folder (the presets) if that is the case. Or perhaps the preference file is corrupt.

LATEST

Now that I've re-enabled the Store presets with this catalog option, my develop presets (and other presets) are back.

I think I found the issue and the solution.

I have always stored my presets with my Lightroom catalogs using the "Store presets with this catalog" option in preferences.  This update appears to have reset that option.  That has not been the case before.  As far as I recall, LrC updates have always respected and retained preferences.  Until this one.

And within just a couple of minutes of using 14.1 I see that other options appear to have been reset.  Already I've noticed:

  1.   My custom identify plate has been reset to the Adobe default.
  2.   The Stacking > Auto-stack by capture time value has been reset.
    3.   Do you want to quit? prompt is back when exiting Lightroom.

I have a suspicious feeling that I will find many other settings that I'll have to customize to my liking again because of this update.  😡

IT WOULD BE APPRECIATED IF LRC DEVELOPERS LEAVE PREFERENCE OPTIONS LIKE THIS ALONE WITH FUTURE UPDATES.  I'm sure we'd all rather spend time on productive work rather than re-doing the work to set up Lightroom because an update stomped on our app preferences.

That does appear to be the case.
