Hi,
Can anyone help me with this error please. I'm trying to import a single image. It is 159MB, a jpeg file. It is a scanned image and I think the problem might be the pixels: 28550 x 37450. Does anyone have some low tech advice on what I can do to this file to import it to Lightroom.
Thanks!
Anne

A bit of forum search turned up this, from former Photoshop senior engineer Chris Cox. It's from 2011, but still:
JPEG files cannot go over 2 Gig or 65535 pixels wide or tall.
JPEG cannot go over 30,000 pixels wide or tall in Photoshop (due to some code that's proven difficult to replace).

Thanks for finding the answer!

Adding to the Lightroom size criteria, as well as the 65000 longest edge limit, there's also a limit on the total number of pixels (h x w) of 512 megapixels. So the image you're trying to import is OK from the "longest edge" limit, but fails the "total number of pixels" limit as the file is more than double 512 megapixels.

You'd have to find some software that will down-sample the photo until it is less than 512 megapixels. But I don't know what software that might be.
