Hello. I have been using Lightroom for... MANY years. Never had any problems. Today i noticed that when none of my imported photos from the last weeks are in the folders they supposedly should go to. When i import i get my photos organizes by date inside the main folder. I tried to look for the problem and they are being "imported" to the camera card. I mean, the camera card appears as a folder in the left panel and the photos are there. I tried to change the automatic import options and choose a folder - didn't work. I tried changing the import folder in the right side menu in the import pannel but there is no import folder option tehre etc etc etc... I looked at many online answers etc... I am desperate and that's why i am bothering you guys. It used to be so simple =/ Can you please help me?

Make sure you have selected COPY at the top center of the import dialog, not ADD. If you select ADD, then the images are only added to the catalog but not copied to your hard drive. And so you will not see a destination panel at the right of the dialog. For standard memory cards like SD and CF that should not be possible (ADD will be dimmed), but for newer card types like CFExpress it is possible because the OS treats these as removable disks.

The left panel is the source panel. Cards appear in both Files and Devices. This is expected behaviour.  Either choice should still only allow you to Copy or Copy as DNG.

Please post a screen shot of the panel. Cmd +Shift + 4 allows you to click and drag an area to capture. Use the image icon to embed the capture in a reply.

Your problem may be different than this previous discussion.

To help you best, maybe start a new question clearly stating:

whether Lightroom or Lightroom Classic, Mac or Windows, which version (see Help / About - e.g. "13.2 Release");

where you are importing FROM (for example, is this directly from a camera, are photos already copied into your computer, or what);

what kind of import you are doing - this is an option at the top of import screen, Move / Copy / Copy as DNG / Add;

what exactly then happens, or fails to happen - and if you get a warning message, what does that say.

Otherwise we are guessing. Please note, if you are submitting a new question or replying by email, I don't think attached images will get seen. You would be better advised to use a web browser: and paste a screenshot straight into your message.
