Installing clean version of LR Classic

New Here ,
May 04, 2024 May 04, 2024

Hi all,

Im trying to reinstall LR Classic as I have a bunch of presets that have gone missing. Anytime I try and reinstall the presets, I get the "these are already installed" message. I've tried every concievable setting but the presets are simply nowhere to be found in any panel.  I just want to start over completely. An absolutel fresh LR Classic install. Problem is, when I unistall and then reinstall LR through CC, it just gets me back to where I was. All the existing presets, library, edits. It's like I never reinstalled. Can anybody help me start over from scratch? As a LR user for 15 years or so, it has become increasingly frustrating to do simple things. Thanks in advance for any help!

Reinstalling the software will not fix the problems you are describing (as you have found out).

The real problem you are trying to fix that you can't find the presets. I don't know the answer, mine have never gone missing. However, have you asked for advice on this matter? Have you done a search of the forum for similar problems? There are plenty of similar threads.

Well, as you have not specified what those attempt are, I for one, am going to have to ask

  • What type of preset, a Develop Preset, or a Profile preset
  • IF a Develop preset have you, in the Presets panel, clicked on the+ button, then selected Manage Presets, and made sure the presets in question are checked on?
