Hello everyone,
a question for the experts: why Lr and LrC don't have the same keyboard shortcuts? It just seems a useless mess.

G in Lightroom is Grid view, G in Photoshop is Gradient/Paint Bucket Tool. L in Photoshop is Lasso Tool, L in Lightroom is Lights Out Mode. As an example. They are different apps with different commands.

I'm talking about Lightroom and Lightroom Classic.

Still different apps and I would be surprised if many people use both. IMHO there should be ONE Lightroom app that can be used with or without the cloud storage.

Classic has a lot more shortcuts (a lot more commands period) and all the different modules. I'm not sure if the two could be easily matched.

One theory might be that the keyboard shortcuts that were thought up for Lightroom (Classic) 1.0 in 2007 were no longer thought to be optimal when Lightroom (cloud) was released many years later, so in the newer app they decided to get it right, in their view.
It’s possible there were other considerations like how the original Lightroom (Classic) shortcuts were working out in different languages and on the mobile devices that didn’t exist in 2007. But we won’t know for sure unless someone from Adobe decides to come into this thread and give a detailed explanation (unlikely).
The bigger question is why, unlike so many other primary Adobe apps, the Lightroom apps do not support customizable keyboard shortcuts with shortcut sets that match other applications.
