keyword input box frozen

Engaged ,

I have a problem with the keywording.

Sometimes all keywords already given to pictures are not anymore displayed in the keyword input field and no new keywords can be entered. After shotdown of LrC and restarting again all information are available and keywords can be entered. The phanomina appears not in every session. Have not found out a rule for it.

Display in the input field during the undefined situation is seen in the attached screenshot

My system MACPro 2019 with 8GByte grafic card , 128 GB RAM and LrC 14.2

Best regards and thx for helping hands

Franz-Josef

Hey, @oldpiefke. Thanks for adding what worked. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

Where is the catalog stored? On the internal or external drive?

Try to clone the catalog & check if the issue crops up again. Follow these steps:

Press and hold the OPT key & launch Lightroom Classic with a new catalog > go to File > Import from catalog > target your current catalog. Proceed with merging the previous catalog into the newly made test catalog, an internal storage-based catalog & c

Thanks for the updates, @oldpiefke. Yes, all your responses are received. Glad to know it's working for you now!

For the previous catalog, you can choose to archive it, or delete it as long as the new catalog does the work for you. Just be sure to take secure backups for the new catalog.

Thanks!

Hey Sameer,

I am working on an internal 1 TB SSD drive.

I will check, but will take a bit of a time, because mismatch happens not only each time and I have a huge catalog with 110000 pictures

Looking forward what happens

Greetings and see you

Piefke

Hey Good Morning Sameer,

till now seems to be the solution. I had three opening sessions with importing new pictures and keywording those. Till now it works.

Question : a) my answer has reached you?

b) seems a good "cleaning operation" for data trash, but what is left of the old and newly generated by the cloning?

In any case best regsrds and thx for the helping hand and hope it has given some new inputs for further improvementsd of our beloved application

Piefke and have a nice weekend

Hey dear Sameer,

unfortunately the failure is back.  with the newly creacted catalog.

Perhaps the following procedure is the reason for it : I entered already keyword during the process of converting my RAW picture to DGN. But is not everytime.

Everytime, when I shotdown LrC and restart it works correctly again and also the previous inserted keywords are there.

Its tricky, but boring

Have a good sunday and greetings from Cadolzburg

Piefke

Hey dear nikunj.m,

I have the same operational inconsistancy with my keyword input.

Attached a screenshot of the information in the keyword input field. It tells : wird durchgeführt.... This info is reamining for hours on those pictures where I entered already keywords as well as on those no keywords are given. Mall function only appears for newly imported pictures, or those, where I add additional keywords.

My system in use : MACPro2019 with maxOS 15.3.1, 8GB Grafic card and 128GB RAM,  LrC 14.2

Best regards and thxs for a helping hand

Franz-Josef
