Latest update is making LRc run extremely slow

Earlier today, LRc updated (13.3) and Mac updated (Sonoma 14.5).

Now, it's taking 12-16 seconds per action I'm trying to make on ONE image. I.E., I'm cropping down an image - 7-8 seconds to do so.

I uninstalled and re-installed LRc also.

I've also restarted my laptop twice in hopes it would help to no avail.

Is anyone else having the same issue and, if so, how do I correct this?

Same issue. I have a 18 year archive in Lightroom Classic which was running just fine until I updated, now it's pretty much unusable. Changing a star rating on a single image takes several seconds. I logged a ticket with Adobe support who did a screen sharing session, deleted various preference and cache files, and even had me import everything into an entirely new catalog, and even without syncing anything to the cloud, it's still super laggy.  Adobe needs to fix this NOW.

I did the latest update and it worked fine for a little while,, but it's going back to slugging back down. I have to restart my computer and log out / in to make it work. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the credentialing that Adobe is doing.

I'm not sure but they changed something in V13 and it's been bad ever since.

Please call tech support so it gets on their radar. This sucks.

@alexfreund , Yes there was a significant change which started with LrC version 13.3 when a new Sync engine was introduced v2. What this means now is you need to be running LrC version 13.3 or later.
See some info on the changes introduced and info on the way forward. It's a challenging task but if you wish to use the new AI features and continue to sync images with Adobe Creative Cloud and mobile devices it's necessary. See info in the thread at the link below.

Yeah I gathered as much but whatever else they've done with the V13.3 update has caused LRC to become practically unusable, even when not syncing to the cloud.  Even just setting star ratings results in a lag for literally 15-30 seconds each time.  The update is awful and they need to address the impact on overall performance.  It's pushing this longtime user to the competition.

I am having the same issue currently and I am stumped. Everything is taking 5x longer to load. Did you ever figure it out?

No.  This issue has existed since V13.  When they released that version, I had to roll back to V12.  I got a notification from LR saying that V12 would no longer sync with the cloud and when I updated to V14 the issue came back.  The newer versions are a total dog and Adobe needs to fix it.  Call their tech support - the more people who escalate the issue, the more likely it is to get fixed.  At this point my 18 years of work is stuck in limbo and I may have to migrate to Capture One, which would suck.

Hey, I had a tech check my machine out and here's what they said. IF You have AVG or NORTON ANTIVIRUS, get rid of it. Just stick with Windows protection. Be sure you have your CUDA drivers installed. Delete your temp files. The main thing is get rid of those two anti-virus and run either Malwarebytes or Windows Protector. Instant change in peformance and so far, LrC and PS both run phenominalaly.

I'm on a Mac, so there's no antivirus software running.  It's just super slow on its own. Last night it took 4 minutes (!) to import ONE tiff file... adding in-place and not even copying. It's making my archive a brick.

I've had this same issue since updating to V13, adjustments won't save when switching between photos, Copy/Paste takes close to 60 seconds when it used to be instant, sync takes close to 3 minutes for 10 photos.

Went on support with Adobe who remote accessed, deleted every single file on the computer related to Adobe, fresh installed all applications, still same issue. Followed the reccomendations of the tech and started a brand new catalog, imported 300,000 photo into the new catalog and (from what I can tell) as soon as I enabled sync the issue came back.

Currently Lightroom is unusable.

I agree. It's unusable. Thry need to address this immediately as it's impacting professionals' business.
