With GPU enabled latest upgrade crashes on start with latest and previous generation Nvidia drivers. Even setting GPU use preference off in settings doesn't prevent crash. Installed 8.1 and LR Classic CC still works, so 8.2 is the introduced incompatibility. Latest Lightroom CC also has the same issue.
Uninstalled, and reinstalled latest Lightroom Classic CC 8.2. Reinstalled Nvidia drivers. Disabled GPU in settings by launching LR with my graphics adapter disabled in Device Management. Still reinstalling 8.1 is only thing that allowed LR to launch. 8.1 fine with GPU enabled in performance settings.

Either the latest nVidia drivers fixed the bug or Adobe updated Lightroom Classic CC. Everything is launching fine for me.
