Using Lightroom 5....not seeing files from Canon m50...how to proceed

You need to update your Lightroom (in other words, subscribe to the Photography Plan), and then Lightroom 7.3 or later will read the raw files from a Canon M50.

Alternative: use the FREE Adobe DNG Converter to convert your raw photos to DNG, and then import the DNGs into LR 5

Sorry that raw files from your Canon camera are not showing up in Lightroom 5.

The Canon M50 was first supported in Lightroom 7.3/1.3. Please upgrade Lightroom to the latest version.

You may also use DNG converter to convert raw files from this camera to native DNG format and then import them in Lightroom. Please refer Adobe Digital Negative Converter 9.x
