Lightroom CC Classic - Can't import from another catalog

Hi,

I have been trying to import all the photos from another catalog after setting up a new one.  I went to "import from another catalog" and then selected the catalog i wanted to import from.  Then I selected all the folders and and chose to import without moving the photos from existing location.  But when I press the "import" icon after that, nothing happens.  The dialog box just disappears as if nothing happened.

What is happening and what shall I do?  Thanks.

I just made a new catalog and then called up the import from a catalog option. A File Manager dialog box came up and I selected my original catalog. Clicked OK or Select (Don't remember which) and then a second dialog/option box came up. Selected to import without moving or copying images from there original location then click the import or ok button and then another dialog box came up with a progress bar.

What EXACT, That IS EXACT, version of LR are you using? Go to the Help menu item and select System Info then copy and paste the first 5-10 lines from what comes up.

What EXACT operating system are you using?
