When I open the newly updated Lightroom Classic none of my pictures display. The filmstrip is black and the pictures don't show up. I can roll over the filmstrip with my mouse and you can see the description of the photo that should be there. Sometimes when opening the Develop window I can see the picture, sometimes not.
Anyone else having this issue?

If this is windows, make sure your display card drivers are up-to-date. If they are try toggling the option "Use graphics processor" in Lightroom's preferences->Performance

Mine did the exact same thing. I reinstalled a version of LR 6 and it still works perfectly..

My experience is the same. AMD drivers, everything up to date. Pretty frustrating that I have to install the older version again to make it work.

Found a workaround on another thread. This worked for me...
his problem has been resolved by a workaround provided by Adobe.
I followed these instructions:
Could you please try the following and report back if it solves the issue.
==
Try this workaround to see if it works for you. If not, delete the config.lua file afterwards.
The System Info dialog (Help > System Info) should display the config.lua flags entry as shown below:
Config.lua-Flags:
AgView.disableDirect2D = true

Thank you! This has restored my Filmstrip which was also non existent since installing Lightrrom Classic. Wonderful. Just incase anyone is unclear, where the instructions above state 'the Lightroom folder', it's referring to the Lightroom installation folder (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic CC).

It does not work with last update. I used it last time and works ok but after new upgrade, problem still occurs.

The LR update mechanism has been unreliable and it often fools people into thinking they're on the "latest". Please do Help > System Info and report the exact version of LR you're running.
