Lightroom Classic not syncing collections (LRD is)

Mac Studio M2 Max OS 14.6 running LRC 14.0.1

 

yet another problem with lr. first of all, even the forums are acting funny so im almost positive this is all on adobes end, not mine. ive gotten a completely new setup and tried with different controlling variables and i am still seeing the same results. please get your act together adobe, we are tired of paying for this unusable software. 

 

the problem: when creating a collection in classic and syncing to the cloud, the collection will show up on LR web, LR CC and LR mobile but it will not be populated with images. the images havent crept into the album yet and ive left it there overnight. i pop into LR CC and create the same collection with the same amount of photos and they sync across all devices, including back into classic, almost immediately. 

 

i was told during my last saga with tech support (which i do not recommend to anyone, it should be illegal the type of "service" they provide) that there were "technical outages" on their end. i really need an answer here, seems like im logging a new bug every week. no crash report so nothing to submit.

What do you see when you click the little cloud upper right and hit the gear icon and then hit the disclosure triangle on sync activity? There are 100's of reasons why syncing might get stuck so very hard to know why yours gets stuck. Even though Adobe fixed a lot of issues it is still quite flaky in my experience.

Doesn’t show anything syncing. all the photos in the collection I'm trying to sync have been synced over already, so its just the populating of the collection that’s not happening. The collection shows up, just with 0 photos. 

to be clear I've been using lightroom w this workflow for 6 years now and I'm a pro photographer so I'm adept with lightroom and troubleshooting its many issues. It just seems there’s always something new, and it seems to be on adobes end and coinciding with the 14.0 release

Sorry wasn't clear how much exprience you had. To test, I just created a new collection in Classic and set it to sync and it immediately showed up in cloudy Lightroom as an album and got populated with the right images. So the system seems to work correctly at the moment at least for me. In previous sync hangs, I have found that just quitting and restarting Classic seems to sometimes get it unstuck. You probably have already tried that many times though.

Oh and have you checked for sync issues on Lightroom web? Easiest way to get there is to go to the same preferences dialog I just described and hold the option key. You'll get three buttons with one being "Show Sync Status on Web". I have seen some cases where the dialog in CLassic showed no issues but this view on web-based Lightroom showed half synced images that were getting everything stuck.

Yea that’s always the first place I check. I'm really thinking this is on adobes end - as I mentioned they spoke of "technical outages" - I just wish this could be confirmed

Could very well be. This forum has been behaving very strangely for the past hour too. Although they should be running on different infrastructure that is not a good sign.

I appreciate your replies my friend! I have found that the bottlenecking occurs on weekends when wedding gigs are more aplenty. This is my working theory lol
