Lightroom has been a pain in the buttocks for the last couple of years.
Doing a simple thing like going from grid to develop module can take 10-20 seconds!
I made a thread about this earlier https://community.adobe.com/t5/Lightroom-Classic/Lightroom-CC-is-slow-af/td-p/10306386#11147737
Turning off windows 10 indexing helped, for a while.
But now LR is unbearable slow again.
I take a coffee break whenever I open LR ...
It is something with my computer that Lightroom doesn't like, and then just acts up.
I have tried every trick on the internet to no avail. So it has to be something with my computer that it doesn't like.
I don't have any anti-virus (or viruses for that matter) except windows defender thingy.
I have plenty of space both on my SSD's and HDD's.
CPU i7 6700k
GPU 1070 GTX
Windows 10 latest
LR latest (although it has been slow over several versions)
EVERY other power-intensive app that I run (prusaslicer, premiere pro, fusion works as intended. Photoshop has been more sluggish over the years. takes a while to open it)
I'm seriously considering ditching LR when it's time for renewal. Can't work like this. It's not like I can charge my clients double because it takes double the time to do the work now.
After being a LR fanboy for the last, uhm.. since LR 3, I am fed up.

Make sure that Windows Defender is not real time monitoring your Lightroom ctalog or previews folder. Since I don't use Windows I can't advise on exactly how, but there should be an option that allows you to select apps, etc that are excluded from real time scanning.
