Lightroom Classic V14.1 becomes non-responsive

I just upgraded to Lightroom Classic 14.1.  I have a small catalog of 610 photos, which I have been using with prior versions, with no issue.  When simply trying to view in the Library module, I keep on getting alerts that Lightroom is non-responsive.  If I wait 10-15 seconds it becomes responsive again and I can scroll through another 3-5 photos before becoming non-responsive.  This is new since the upgrade.  Is anyone else experiencing this same issue?  I am using Windows  11.  Closing Lightroom and reopening had no effect in improving the issue.

What about your Windows Paging file? Do you let Windows adjust that automatically, or have you decreased it, and perhaps even if you did not change the default, maybe it needs to be increased????

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut out as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs and it takes up vast amounts of scroll space making the reply less readable and less likely that others will bother with your post. Also large amounts of text in a post also render the Translate function inoperable...

What type of drive is D:? External? What is the interface? USB-C? USB-3?

I see your catalog is on the D: drive. If it has a slow interface, that could be the source of the delay.

Assuming your drive C: is a modern SSD, that would be the place to keep your catalog and preview folders. If there is not space on the C: drive for that, I would be worth it to upgrade that drive to a bigger, faster one.

I spec'd out this PC and purchased this year with two internal 1 TB SDDrives.  I have created a new catalog with the same photos and found a moderate improvement, but still have periodic "not responding".  It is at least now usable.  However, I bought (10 months ago) this machine to speed up my workflow and saw a huge improvement.  Now I have digressed to a slower speed than with the older machine.

LrC should be pretty zippy with that drive configuration. My setup is similar with SSDs, C: OS and programs, D: LrC catalogs.

I suspect something else is going on with your computer. Check to see that your anti-virus is set to NOT be looking at your LrC folders or photos files.

Also, it doesn't hurt to reset LrC preferences when it starts acting up.

Thank you for the advice.  I did make a change to the anitvirus to exclude my photo folders and LrC folders.  This made a small improvement as well.  The system nows to appear to be unstable as now the delays come and go, but not always.  As I continued to further investigate, I am now looking to see if there was a driver update that I was not aware of that may have installed.

I have a very similiar configuration except running Win11 with very similiar memory problem. It is related to masks in develop mode. My workaround was to look at the pagefile allocation and found that it was set to low values. I have let Windows automatically manage the pagefile which has stopped the crashes although the underlying memory problem is still there. If the pagefile is manually managed it should be at least 1.5 times the amount of real memory, ie, at least 48GB on a 32GB machine and it should be on a SSD, but not the same SSD as the catalogue. The jury is still out but my machine as not crashed since making this change."

I reviewed the VM and Windows 11 was managing the paging file.  I did make a change to see if there was a difference and set to 150 K -250 K mb of VM.  This added some improvement as well.  Between creating new catalogs, modifying the anitvirus, and now changing the paging file managment and size, it is very close to back to normal.  It is now very usable.  Thank you all for your help.
