Lightroom Classic will not open, has error box pop up

Hi everyone, I am feeling hopeless about an issue with Lightroom Classic. My computer did an update to the Windows 11 Version 24H2 on Thursday night. When I tried to launch my Classic app the next morning, it would not open. An error box stating "Error report for "Adobe Lightroom Classic" (I will attach a photo of it to this thread). When clicking further to diagnose the issue, it comes up with a box stating "No Issues Found", But still will not open the app. I have already contacted Adobe tech as well as Microsoft tech... both have spent hours looking into the issue and cannot figure out why the app will not open. All of my other Adobe apps open with no issues at all, it is just Lightroom Classic that will not open up. I am getting beyond frutrated that nothing has been found to fix this issue yet. I've never ran into this problem in the almost 10 years I've used this app. I hope someone can help me, please!

I just tested LrC on my standby computer which is the only one I have that has updated to Win 11 24H2. LrC is running fine on that one. My main processing machine is a new home built Win 11. I7-14700, still on 23H2.

I recently had a problem on the new machine where LrC would not start. No error message, but the .lock file was created. The short explanation is that a bad ram module in the new computer had caused a corrupt catalog in LrC. Once I replaced the ram, I found the latest zipped LrC backup, unzipped it and placed it in the LrC folder after renaming the lrcat corrupt catalog file. It has worked fine since.

I hope this might help in your situation.

Did you fill out, with your Adobe ID, and submit the crash dialog that you screenshotted?

I have what appears to be a similar issue to yours. After Windows 11 24H2 installed and PC restarted, I have been unable to get LrC (v14) to open. Task Manager shows that Lightroom Classic is running as a background process only. I looked in my Catalog folder and confirmed that a LOCK file is generated. If I restart the PC the LOCK file is still there prior to my trying to restart LrC. I've deleted the LOCK file, restarted and then tried restarting LrC but the problem persists.

I've restarted, held down the CTRL key while starting LrC and it prompts me to pick my catalog file. I've checked the option to have LrC check the catalog file, which takes awhile, then.... nothing. And of course the LOCK file is back.

I did not get the error dialog that the OP posted above. Instead LrC just sits there in Task Manager as a background process. As with OP all of my other Adobe apps are working normally; unfortunately I use LrC the most and now it's unavailable to me.

Anyone else out there seen this sort of issue? Any ideas or suggestions?

UPDATE: I followed the advice of KR Seals above and just restored my most recent catalog backup. Problem solved. Thanks Ken!
