I have an old copy of Lightroom 6 on DVD that I bought about 6 or 7 years ago. I have it installed on a Win10 desktop machine and it works fine. I also want to install it on a newish Asus Win11 laptop that I bought. From what I understand I am allowed to install it on two different computers.
The Asus laptop doesn't have a DVD drive, so I converted the DVD to an ISO file and put the ISO on a USB stick and installed it on the laptop and entered the serial number. When I click on the Lightroom icon on the laptop it loads the splash screen for a couple of seconds and then closes. I can't seem to get it to run. Is there something else I need to do? Or am I mistaken and I can't run Lightroom 6 on two different computers?
Thanks.

First, LR 6 is a very old program and it isn't compatible with newer operating systems. This means, it can be run or not.
The other thing is, that there's no more support for Lightroom 6: End of Support | Lightroom 6 Downloads and Syncing (adobe.com)
If it's possible to install LR, you can't also activate Lightroom because the appropriate server are no longer online.
Also a deactivation of existing installation aren't possible.
It's now the time to move on to a Adobe Plan, a subscription (for example the Photography Plan) or move on to a different product.

I believe people have reported that Lr 6 does run properly on Windows 11, but I think you should browse the forum and see if you can find such reports. This problem has nothing to do with the license terms which allows you to activate Lr 6 on two computers. If there was a licensing problem, you would get an actual error message to that effect.
Or you could use the current version of Lightroom Classic and then all the problems with the very old and unsupported Lr 6 go away.
