Lightroom freezing when import

New Here ,
Feb 12, 2017 Feb 12, 2017

Having a problem for three weeks.  Lightroom cc 2015:8.  Windows 10, Dual Quad-core Xeon, 64GB ram, NVidia Quadro.  Same problem across 4 catalogs.  Have uninstalled and reinstalled with preferences cleared.  Only change made was switching to 1:1 preview in import menu.  Has not worked since.  Has anybody found a way to clear this issue?  Not been able to add files since.

Hi Mark,

Please try removing all connected external devices(like Phone, Tablet or an external drive) and try importing.

Let us know if that helps.

Regards,

Akash

Do you have try to deactivate the GPU support?

Edit->Preferences->Performance, uncheck Use Graphics Processor

Hi Matt

thanks, but still frozen.  It was checked but unchecking, rebooting and reinstallation has not made a difference, still freezing when I try to import, even on a fresh catalogue.

Thanks

Mark

Thank you Akash.  When I removed my USB 3.0 card reader, the import dialogue worked.
