Lightroom Masking Background, Subject and Person not working

Since I upgraded to the latest version of Lightroom Classic the person, background and subject masks no longer work. I press the masking button and nothing happens. Also if I try to use some of the AI masks such as whiten teeth or enhance eyes, these do not work - the masking screen shows a blank mask with ! next to it. My Windows updates are current. I was using all the features mentioned above earlier this year.

Make sure you have installed the most recent driver for this graphics card. See if that helps.

 

If that doesn't help, your GPU is six years old and probably doesn't have the power to perform the task.

That driver is six years old. LR is very sensitive to bugs in older graphics drivers (of which there are many).  Normally, you'd download the most recent driver from AMD.com, but it appears this GPU was specially bundled with a particular Intel CPU and you get drivers from Intel.com:

Those drivers have version numbers that look older than your current driver. 

 

You might contact customer support for your laptop, but often that's an exercise in pounding your head on your desk.
