Lightroom Mobile Mac - Desktop Sign In Not Working

I use Lightroom CC 2015 for Mac and Lightroom Mobile for my iPhone and iPad. It worked great for more than a year. However, in the last week or two, I have not been able to log into Lightroom mobile on my Mac. The sign in feature/window won’t even appear.

On my Mac, I have confirmed that I have all the latest cloud updates. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom. All to no avail.

Any ideas for how I can re-establish the connection for Lightroom mobile on my Mac?

Hi Sachin,

I assume you are using the version 6.0. However, for sync to work, you must be atleast on version 6.5 (2015.5). The latest version available now is CC 2015.10.1

The version you have shared looks to be the version of your Mac (sierra).

I would need the version of Lightroom.

You need to click on help and choose updates and install the latest update.

Make sure when the update is being installed, Lightroom is closed.

Please sign out of creative cloud desktop app and close Lightroom.

Open Finder window, click on go and choose computer.

Navigate to MacHD/Library/ApplicationSupport/Adobe

Locate the folder "caps" and rename it to caps.old

Log into creative cloud desktop app again and you would notice an install/Update option next to Lightroom.

Install the update and launch Lightroom and then click on help and choose system info and let us know the version.

If it is Lightroom 2015.10.1, try to sync now.

I followed your steps and this is the result:

Before:

Lightroom version:  CC 2015 [1014445]

License: Creative Cloud

Operating system: Mac OS 10

Version: 10.12 [5]

After:

Lightroom version:  CC 2015 [1014445]

License: Creative Cloud

Operating system: Mac OS 10

Version: 10.12 [5]

No update was installed. Signing in to Lightroom Mobile still not possible.

Did all this. Re-installed and the version is still Lightroom version:  CC 2015 [1014445] and i still don't get anything when i click on the sync button.

I never received a phone call either, Adobe support was not helpful at all here.

I solved it by updating manually to the latest version of Lightroom (not Creative Cloud Center):

https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-downloads.html

Then scroll down to "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6" and click on it, choose your operating system.

I already downloaded the LR as you suggested and it still has not solved the problem. My LR does not sync with the mobile. Any other alternatives to solve the problem?

The minimum version required for Sync is 2015.12.

Found the uptade file and tried to install it.

But it failed, saying "If you like to use an update ask your admin. Updates are blocked by admin.".

Why is that? I'm the only user AND admin.

I have images that synced previously so I assume what you mean is that sync is broken in 2015.10. And fixed in 2015.12?

How do you recommend that I upgrade to 2015.12 when the app manager does not tell me to do that? The link others refer to is for CS. Should I uninstall in AppManager and then reinstall from there?

Surely someone should open a ticket for App Manager. If I have 2015.10 and the latest is 2015.12, why does App Manager show that there are no available updates? That seems like a pretty big issue.

Thank you. I used App Manager to uninstall and reinstall and now have 2015 12 and that works.

But I do think someone needs to open a ticket against App Manager. It should have notified us that there's a new release. Even when I clicked the three dots and selected "Check for App Updates", it told me I was up to date, which was wrong.

I got the same problem since 2 days :

- signin to Lightroom mobile impossible

- no update or new version of Lightroom available on CC center

- manual update of Lightroom (by Hel menu) fails
