Lightroom mobile trial expired issue

Explorer ,
May 12, 2014 May 12, 2014

I have CC Master and in my installation of Lightroom, it only tells "Lightroom Mobile Trial Expired". Same in iPad. "Your trial period has ended"

I installed it way back almost right away, when it was announced. I also posted a note on a forum about this, and the guy said this would be fixed well before trial was over.

I mean: come on! Someone already said that this is a thing Adobe is working on and that it should be resolved well before trial period is over. Well it is not!

Could you please fix this. I am fed up with all the crap I have been having with CC subscription. Not the first time I have had issues with it. Once I spent two hours with chat tech support trying to fix something that should have been just working.

Crappy, crappy, crappy work, Adobe. I am losing my faith here, and I am not alone.

Hi Dazman,

please read this article here http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-mobile-available-education-memberships.html  You purchased a subscription that specifically does not include Services such as Lightroom mobile.  - Guido

You haven’t said what type of LR purchase you’ve made: standalone, student, Photography or full Cloud, but the message means that from Adobe’s point-of-view LR purchase isn’t entitled to LR Mobile. You would need a Photography Plan or a full-cloud subscription to have cloud-sync capabilities with LR Mobile. To get rid of the message just right-click on the identity plate area with the message and choose another option or edit your identity plate to have a custom message, like your name.

Adobe may not be listening, but I wish to add to the chorus that I too am sincerely displeased with Adobe's stance on providing Lightroom Mobile access to users who have their subscriptions provide through education site licenses (aka Kivuto).  Part of the perceived purpose of this program is to get students and educators to use Adobe products. By creating barriers to access Adobe is preventing legitimate use and is bluntly burning a bridge with education users.

Adobe's official stance that these subscriptions are "designed for educational rather than home use" is disingenuous at best. It would be wise for Adobe to remember that these very education users will one day be in positions where they use these products professionally and will be the wind that helps to continue to grow Adobe's business in the future.

We may be a small group of users who are directly affected by this policy. But it remains disappointing that Adobe does not seem to think it is worth their time or energy to change this policy.

LR-Mobile requires Adobe host reduced-sized copies of your designated raw photos in the Amazon cloud continuously which costs them money.

You can always sign up for the LR+PS photography plan for $10/month if you want LR Mobile that badly.

Just over a year ago I purchased Lightroom 5 and I may have installed the mobile app on the phone I then owned (i cannot remember). I am interested in an Adobe CC subscription, after starting LR for the 1st time it informs me LR mobile has expired (something i want to try now i understand what i'm doing). I have just spent far too much of my life trying to explain to somebody within Adobe via their help and support page I would really like to try the mobile app before commiting to a contract which i am being told it is not possible because i did so a while back (even though I didn't actually use it) but i have LR 5 which i previously trialled and they are allowing to start a 30 day trail of LR 6? where is the logic. If the website states free trial for Adobe CC surely it means the whole package? Such a small issue which could be easily resolved, where's the customer service and would/is this normal if you encounter an issue?

Many thanks for any feedback

I am in the same situation as Wayne.  Just installed the desktop Lightroom CC trial, only to have a message at the top say that Lightroom Mobile has expired.  I may have played with it a couple of years ago, but don't recall.. In any case, before I commit to the CC subscription, I really want to test out LR mobile.  This problem needs to get fixed.

I seem to be having the same issue. I was paying the monthly when I found out that through the University System of Georgia, I could get a much cheaper version via my university system. This was not purchased via Kavuto. I realized yesterday that I was still being charged the monthly fee. The agent I spoke to via chat said that he would cancel my second membership and refund me the three months that I had been charged. Iasked him twice that there would be no change in my membership or access to programs. He said there would not be. Now I am getting the error message that my mobile has expired. I have logged in and out of the Creative Cloud twice. I am still getting the same message. I have the

Creative Cloud Student and Teacher edition (one-year)‎ plan.

From what I see at the back-end of your account is that you have an active Educational Creative Cloud memberships purchased from Kivuto therefore you see the expired info. In addition I can see an expired Photography subscription plan which was canceled 3/11. Which one of these memberships was the one that should have been canceled by the agent ? - Guido

But I didn't purchase it via Kivuto unless they are a faceless entity for this. I did purchase it through the University System of Georgia through their software licensing programs for educators. My credit card was billed from the Software and Services company extension of the University System of Georgia. If all university software purchases prevents others from syncing with Lightroom mobilely, then this needs to be more clearly stated. I did have the monthly membership to the Creative Cloud, so I could edit photos on my ipad and it sync with my desktop. When I found out that I could get it much cheaper via the USG, I opted to purchase that software. However, in my communication to Adobe in December and last week, I was told there would be no interruption to my services with the change. However, this is untrue. I am able to use the app, but it doesn't communicate back to my desktop Lightroom. Have I lost this ability because 1)you all don't see the benefit in educators having access to this? 2) Your own customer service agents don't understand the difference in the types of software programs out there?  I made it very clear what I was trying to do when I made the purchase in December and last week when I realized that I was still being billed monthly even though I purchased a year long membership. I asked TWICE to the agent last week if I would lose any functionality with this change, and he said no. Clearly, he was wrong. Please correct me if I am wrong, but it seems you all aren't effectively advertising the difference with the number of posts in this forum. It also seems your customer service reps haven't been explained the difference if this is indeed the case. So, please tell me, must I reactivate my monthly membership in order to sync lightroom via my ipad and desktop?

Hi Cynthia,

I can agree on is that something went wrong in your case.

The only question I can answer is the latter one:

Yes, you must reactivate the monthly membership in order to sync Lightroom via your devices and the desktop.

thanks,

Ignacio

Thank you for admitting that something went wrong, but please do a much better job clarifying that you will not have the ability to sync mobilely if you use software purchased via your educational platform/3rd party sites.
