Lightroom shut down when cancelling editing on Silver Efex Pro

Contributor ,

I opened efex pro to edit an image already in LR..  played around with some different templates, changed my mind and clicked cancel.  That completely shut down efex pro and LR.  When I opened LR again, the catalog was gone.

I clicked 'open recent' and 'open catalog' - still no catalog.

Had to go to finder on my iMac and open catalog from there.

Don't recall ever cancelling from efex, maybe I have but have never experienced this.

Anyone got any ideas as to why this happened??

Any time a catalog is renamed, removed, or moved, it will disappear from the MRU (most recently used) list as well as the [Alt/Opt]+Launch dialog.  When this happens a default (normally empty) catalog is opened and it appears that the catalog has been wiped out.  Normal procedure is to locate via the OS finder,  the renamed, removed, or moved catalog and double-click it to launch Lightroom with that catalog as the MRU.

Hi kayak107,

We're sorry that your Lightroom catalog suddenly got disappeared from the "open recent" or "open catalog" menu in Lightroom.

I am assuming that the catalog got disappeared because it might've got corrupted via the plugin and restarting the catalog have relinked it in Lightroom.

Thanks,

Akash

upon restartung I was unable to open my working catalog.  I ggogled the error message and fixed the problem.

My catalog was not renamed, removed or moved.  It was corrupted as a result of something going on with the Nik application that I was using.  Something similar happened once before while using the Nik app, Silver Efex Pro.
