Lightroom Sync stuck on Initializing Sync Data

Since updating to the new 13.3 Version of lighroom classic and 7.3 of lightroom my sync status appears to be stuck, stating 'Initializing Sync Data'. It has been stuck like this for the past 24hr's, although I have not left Lightroom running all that time, but it has been running for the past 4hrs with nil change. I did update my Lightroom Catalogue and have around 10k files in the cloud (mostly smart previews).

Is it just a waiting game or is there likely an error preventing further progress.

Any help would be appreciated.Screenshot 2024-05-28 at 17.13.14.png

Here is what worked for us multiple times.

Go to your catalog file, you can find it at Catalog Settings > Show (see screenshot) locate file and make a copy of it (see screenshot), mine is called "Upgraded Catalog May 21st 2024.lrcatScreenshot 2024-09-23 at 9.01.14 PM.pngScreenshot 2024-09-23 at 8.58.31 PM.png" go to old catalog file and rename it, the NEW catalog file has to have the old name, double click on the new catalog file with the old name.

We have done this multiple times, and has worked for us.

Good luck.

you do realise that what you are doing is changing NOTHING AT ALL? A digital copy is exact same file down to the last byte.

Da, Moroshka!

Well, I did not know that, but you are welcome to "help" me figure this out. But, what ever I did fixed got it unstuck from 8k to 6k photos, came back with the intention to report back the results.

Last time this happened, I did this or something similar and it jump start the syncing again, I'm not saying is the correct way to do it, I am sharing my findings.
