MacOS 14.5

With "Use Graphics Processor" set to Auto or Custom and an LG 27" 5K UltraFine display connected via Thunderbolt, cropping, zooming, and panning around when zoomed are incredibly slow. It can take 5 seconds or longer to move one side of a crop box and have the display update, though the lag seems very variable - occasionally it's less than a second, and then on the next image it's many seconds. My MacBook Pro is pretty well spec'd out (see below), and this only recently started happening, so I don't believe my hardware is under-powered.

If I disconnect the LG external monitor and only work on the MacBook Pro display, the problem goes away. If I connect the external monitor but close the laptop lid, the problem goes away. If I turn off Use Graphics Processor in the Preferences with both displays active the problem goes away, however in this instance while cropping and zooming become responsive again, using the brush to paint a mask and dragging adjustment sliders like Exposure and Contrast become very slow. The cropping and zooming slowness only happens with some level of Use Graphics Processor set and with the external monitor and laptop displays both active. I can disconnect the external display or close the laptop lid and instantly get responsive cropping & zooming without having to restart LR or restart my MacBook Pro. Same with turning off Use Graphics Processor. Similarly when making both displays active, or setting Use Graphics Processor to Auto or Custom, the very slow cropping & zooming behavior returns instantly without having to restart anything.

This behavior happens with any image I've tried, including raw NEF images, DNGs, TIFFs, and PSDs. Also, I've disabled the two plugins you can see in the System Info below so that I have no active LR plugins, and that doesn't make a difference.

As noted in my original post, yes I have tried with both of those plugins disabled and it makes no difference to the very slow behavior.
