LR Classic - Keyword input causes error message

Explorer ,
Oct 21, 2017 Oct 21, 2017

In the Library, while inputting Key Words into the Keyword Tags, I have incurred a number of error messages. See below. Issues seem to be most prevalent in the input of new Keywords. But I have received the error on existing keywords as well.

Please see the attached snip of the error message.

Key word error 30.JPG

I am using the same keyword input process as I have used since Lightroom 1 was introduced. Why am I receiving the error message in LR CLASSIC CC?

More information, I now recognize that some of my Keywords are not being accepted. I can enter the keywords on the specific image and then hit enter. The Key word continues to show in the Keyword tag box but then I get the error message. If I leave that image , go to another image and then return to the original image, the "new" keywords will be missing. I have actually inputted the same keywords 3 times and LR Classic CC gives me the error message and ignores my keyword inputs.

More information: As import the images, I always have some keywords that apply to all the images being imported.

Occasionally, as I move from one image to another, the new image will have no keywords at all. If I move back and forth from one image to another, the "as imported" keywords will magically appear in what was a blank keywords box.

This is my fourth day of using LR Classic CC - there must be a bug in the keywords area in the software. I am still seeing the occasional error message after I input keywords.

It is 10/23/2017 at 8:42 pm EST. Here is the latest keyword error code message as I was inputting a "NEW" keyword.

I need some help here! 10232017 keyword error code.JPG

I was still receiving error messages on some Key word inputs this morning. For the life of me I cannot figure out the sequence that triggers the error code. It seems to correlate with the key word input of a scientific name - but not every one. I am puzzled.

As well, the key words I put in are subsequently rejected by LR and they do not appear with the image or in the Key word data base.

Alright - the keyword issue continues today. I have had no comments or suggestions.

Hello Forum, I need a little help here.

I am tired of inputting keywords a second or third time just to get them to stay!

LATEST

try backing up your catalogue and restarting LR.  I had similar issues (ie, I could not add any key words to my images) but without the error messages.  Also, if you haven't recently, try updating, as I know they issued an update just a few days ago.

Good luck
