LR Classic not Syncing

New Here ,
Sep 17, 2019 Sep 17, 2019

Hello all,

I'm posting here to hopefully receive more help than I did from the fine folks at Adobe.  So far they can't figure out what's wrong.

I'm using LR Classic and in addition that I've been using Adobe Portfolio to post my albums/collections on the site.  It's really great and I like it a lot.  When it's working, it's amazingly easy and attractive.

However, about a month ago things stopped working.  When I click the sync icon next to the collection in LR Classic, that album then does not show up when I'm in the Portfolio editor.  I click on the blue + and no album.

  • I'm signed into LR
  • I have plenty of data space available
  • Syncing is not paused

I'm not sure what the issue is and so far no one at Adobe does either.  For instance, the album "VT - 2019 Drone" album has the sync checked but it does not show up when I go to add it in Portfolio.  I have attachd a couple of screen shots.

I would love this to be a case of operator error and I would definitely love to hear some potential solutions.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Paul

It has been reported that a corrupt file can halt this process. Use the Filter tools in Lightroom Library mod to isolate non-Sync'd files and see if any persistent file(s) appear to be the cause.

Hi Tony, thanks for your reply. I have tens of thousands of non-synced files. I don't sync all of my images now nor will I in the future. In this case, I just want to see the images that are holding up the process.

Try this test: make another collection with just a couple of images and confirm that this works. If it does, continue to add images to the collection until you find the image that won't upload.

That didn't work. I made a collection of two images and synced it but it's not available to be loaded into Portfolio.

Too bad because that would have helped to figure out if it is a Lr problem or a Portfolio problem. Have you power cycled your computer?

Right - agreed! Not sure yet if it's LR or Portfolio. The connection is definitely not there though. I tried to change a "main" photo in one of the collections already synced and that didn't work either. There's something that's preventing it from syncing just not sure what it is. I'm still talking to Adobe though so hopfully they will find the issue eventually.

Have you tried to sign out (not quit) completely using your Creative Cloud Manager and then back in?

Just tried that. No effect. Keep the suggestions coming though! And thanks!

Well this has happened a few times to me and here are a couple of things that worked. Went into sync errors > deleted the files and then tried to resync. Another time I went into Preferences > Lightroom Sync and held down the option key then selected the 'Rebuild Sync Data' button. I've also seen times when the originals were not online and that caused sync problems. If none of these things help to get these 192 images synced I'd  wonder if the files were corrupt. That seems the most unlikely issue. It seems like  more of a connectivity/account level issue though  if you can't sync  even one image.

OK - so I did the Rebuild Sync Data. I ddn't know that existed! And now LR is syncing everyhting all over again. I'll let you know when it's done and I've had a chance to try to import something new.
