I imported new images to LRC. Images are stored on external SSD. I started culling,or thought I was... When LRC prompted me I clicked on the 'delete from disk' option. I seemed my external SSD was working as the LED was blinking. I continued to create a new collection in LRC with the images I wanted to keep. There are 137 images in my LRC collection, but over 1,000 still on my external SSD... not understanding why those unwanted images are still stored on the external SSD.

There have been a few reports about Lightroom Classic having problems deleting files from disk, but AFAIK the cause is unclear. You could use the following workaround: When culling, do not delete the images right away, but mark them as rejected (X-key shortcut). When you are finished, select all rejected images and move them to a temporary folder in Lightroom. Then delete them from the catalog. Now, in Windows Explorer, inspect that folder. If the images are still present, you can manually delete them.

Hi Johan-thank you for your prompt reply. I recall I did use the X key while was culling... but I will attempt culling again and follow your suggestion.
