MacOs Tahoe, MacOS 26

Community Beginner ,
Sep 10, 2025 Sep 10, 2025

Has anyone tried Mac OS 26 RC? Are Lightroom, Photoshop, and the Creative Cloud app now compatible with Mac OS 26? I've never updated a Mac major version since I switched to MAC, so I don't know if it's worth waiting for it to work reliably and stably, or if I can just go straight to the new system on September 15th. Thank you in advance for your answers.

A good thing to do is bookmark the Adobe compatibility article link below, and check on it until it’s updated to cover macOS 26 Tahoe. It lists the last few versions of macOS, indicates which versions of Creative Cloud apps are claimed to be compatible, and any known issues. The Known Issues column is pretty quiet now, but when macOS 15 was first released there were a lot more items in there.

In addition, Adobe may post an article specifically about macOS 26

Hello,

I’m having a persistent display issue in Adobe Lightroom Classic when entering fullscreen mode on my external monitor.

System setup:

  • MacBook Pro 14" (M4 Pro chip)

  • macOS Tahoe (latest version)

  • Lightroom Classic (latest version)

  • External monitor: BenQ 3225U connected via USB-C

Issue description:
When switching to fullscreen mode on the external BenQ 3225U, Lightroom’s interface becomes distorted — the top black bar stays visible, the image area doesn’t scale correctly, and parts of the interface freeze or disappear.
The issue began right after updating to macOS Tahoe. Everything worked normally before that.

I’ve tried:

  • Resetting Lightroom preferences

  • Reinstalling Lightroom

  • Testing different cables and ports

  • Enabling/disabling GPU acceleration

The issue persists.

I’ve attached a screenshot Snímek obrazovky 2025-11-04 v 16.18.08.pngshowing the problem in action.
Could you please confirm if this is a known compatibility issue with macOS Tahoe, or provide a possible workaround?

Thank you for your help,
Jakub Machala

Hard to believe we're almost 2 months from Tahoe release and still no official word or articles from Adobe about when compatibility might arrive.

Adobe's system requirements explicitly list macOS 26.

Where are you seeing this? Here is Adobe's official page for compatibility with MacOS and Tahoe (MacOS 26) isn't listed anywhere: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/apps/system-requirements/apps-compatible-macos.html

For Lightroom, its Sonoma and later

https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-cc/system-requirements.html

For Photoshop, the supported OS is enumerated

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/desktop/get-started/technical-requirements-installation/adobe-phot...

And no i have no idea whay Adobe doesn't list compatibility tha same way across products. Bridge 2026 isn't listed anywhere, for example. :sighI

I am relatively new to LRC but have been running it on macOS 26 for the last couple months (currently on macOS 26.2 dev beta 3).  It has been working fine for me except that once I went on 26.2 I started having issues with Maps being displayed.  This is not an issue with LRC so much as it is with changes to WebKit2 which is critical to displaying Google Maps.  The 26.2 RC edition should be released soon (perhaps in the next couple of days) when hopefully WebKit2 will be fixed.

I just stumbled over this..

On the main adobe site (.com) The MacOS compatibility list is still yet to be updated with MacOS 26.
But then i checked the danish site(.com/dk/), which is my local, and here the list is updated and they do list LR, LrC as well as PS as being compatible with MacOs 26.

Why would the danish site be updated before the main site?

I have provided screenshots to show the list has been updated on the danish site, but not the main site.

I don't have an answer for why the english language version of the macOS compatibity page that you show doesn't mention Tahoe, but below linked page does. Both versions of Lightroom and Photoshop are shown as compatible , and no issues are listed.

I have an older 2020, Intel iMac that I upgraded from Seqouia to Tahoe with a bad Photshop outcome. Photoshop has become intolerably slow and unusable. It may not be an issue with your Mac based chipset, andI haven't tested it with Lightroom Classic, but I would wait and triple check down the road to make sure it won't be buggy.

Thanks for sharing!
But the system requirements page for InDesign is still not mentioning MacOS26 compatability.
