I can't subract from a mask using the brush (no difference between different types of masks). However I can add to a mask using the brush.
Also the other tools (e.g. linear, radial filter, etc.) to add and subract from masks are working fine.
At the beginning of the week I could subtract from a mask using the brush so I not want to exclude that I hit a setting which disable this function.
I also synchronized the photos with my iPad an there I colud subtract via the brush.
Any ideas how to fix the problem? At the moment I try to avoid a reinstall.

Please provide more details about what goes wrong. When you click the Subtract button, do you see Brush listed?
What happens when you select Brush and make brush strokes on the image?

Hi, I'm having the same issue. I select a "Subject" mask and when I try to brush off some parts (Subtract - Brush), it is not getting subtracted. Any idea please?

1. If you Add rather than Subtract, does that work?
2. If Add doesn't work either, make sure you've got Flow and Density at 100:
