Multiple issues: Interface resets when moving a folder and others

  • When you move a folder in Lightroom, the interface resets and scrolls back to the top. This can be particularly frustrating when dealing with a long list of files, such as archiving folders on a server.
  • Secondary Display panel will randomly close by itself when switching between modules of Develop and Library. This is quite consistend.
  • Right Click > Edit in PS only works sometimes with large TIFFs. Usually It’ll say “Syncing Metadata” then do nothing. One has to do this a few times.
  • A huge bug... When saving a TIFF in another program like PS, the TIFF's preview will update correctly in Library mode, but switch to Develop mode and it’ll display the old TIFF. No way to fix this until you close and reopne LRc
  • With Publish Services, when you publish a virtual copy of a photo (and also remove the original photo from the collection), it uploads first and then gets deleted immediately. This means no photo actually gets published. If the delete process happens before the upload process, the virtual photo would be published correctly.
  • White UI elements in a dark scheme in the year 2024/2025. It’s not great to get flash banged at night when working on photos.
  • Editing in Photoshop will create a .TIF but Photoshop, if you save as, will create a .TIFF and LR won’t pick it up until you sync.  A little consistency would be good
  • Changing color profile (sometimes) doesn’t work first time, needs two clicks
  • Sliders often don’t work properly (See attached screen recording)
  • Sometimes when a TIFF updates outside LRc, the color labels and or flags will be lost and reset. I've lost money due to this one over the years as I use labels to keep a track of photos issued to clients

The original title of the post is "Master List of Bugs that have plagued LRc since the 2010s".

Your change is misleading and should be reversed.

@DClark064  Your analysis is not correct:

Please Review: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-bugs/p-how-do-i-write-a-bug-report/idi-p/12386373
"Please do not mix multiple bug reports in a single post!" & "Do not use the word "bug" in the subject line!" are both called out in the document.

The post has errors as a bug report so moving the post to discussions is appropriate.

Changing the title of the post in discussions is not appropriate.  In discussions the title and content is permitted.

"Changing the title of the post in discussions is not appropriate."

The title was changed while the post was in "Bugs". After further vetting the post and finding it lacked the necessary information, and, more importantly, had no reproducible constituents, it was moved to Discussions.

I have modified the post subject line again but I will not be restoring it to the original.

You added "Multiple Isssues:" to your title.  It's still not the title as submitted.

Rather than try to reduce attention on the post, it would be a better response to go through the list of items the author claims are bugs of long duration and address them.  Either explain why they are not "bugs" or "issues", or explain why they have been uncorrected for so long.

So, have you ever considered resetting your LrC preferences file?

That slider behaviour looks very much like a corrupt preference file.

  • Autocorrect is too aggressive when renaming or changing metadata fields when they need to be individual, ie the Scene input field or the Caption input field
