All of a sudden my main Lightroom Classic catalog wont open. Other catalogs of mine open just fine. This on brings up the Lightroom loading screen and my cursor turns into the spinning wheel and never stops. When I right click the lightroom icon in my dock, it says application not responding.
I read about the Lrcat.lock file trick, which I tried but it doesnt work. I delete it, try to open lightroom, spinning wheel appears and the .lock file appears again.
This catalog has some recent work in it that hasnt been backed up and I need access.
Any pointers?

Hold down the option key while starting LrC. This will bring up a catalog selection dialog, in which you can select to check the integrity of the catalog not responding.
If that does not help, I'd open a new catalog and then import the faulty catalog into this new, empty catalog.
Post back if it helps.

I tried this, however, LR wasnt opening at all with this catalog selected. Though, I was able to move the location of the corrupted catalog so that it promped me to select a catalog to open. From here I was able to check the "Check Integrity of Catalog" box when openeing the broken file. Sure enough the catalog was corrupted and luckily the LR Repair Catalog option worked.
All's good!
