The destination folder does not have write permission. You need to change this permission in your operating system. Or try a different folder where you know you have write permission.

That did not work - still won't import any files. Thanks for the advice but there must be something else that is causing my issue.

Tell us exactly and in detail what you did, step-by-step, leaving nothing out. Did you get the same error message, or a different one?

Just a thought. Try shutting down your Computer and then reboot the Computer and open LrC.

In most cases you don't need to just have the target directory set for write but all directories in the chain. For example, if you directory is C:/user/me/pictures/2024/mydir then 2024, pictures,me,user must all have write access for you.

Ok, I mentioned that the only thing new was I did the latest LRC update - which created a new catalog - I went back to the previous catalog and it now will allow imports. So something in the new import affected my ability to import files when nothing changed but renaming the catalog and doing the update. I have to figure out how that update affected the ability to import photos - otherwise, I can't keep up with any new updates from Adobe.

Very strange. You haven't said which OS but is there a chance you did the update with more privelges than your normal user account?

The new catalog was trying to import to a different folder than the old catalog was. You haven't even looked for that.

The folder is the same for the old and new catalogs, so I'm trying to figure out why it would not import.

@dj_paige , you stated " The new catalog was trying to import to a different folder than the old catalog was. You haven't even looked for that."

@tomj52 , response " The folder is the same for the old and new catalogs, so I'am trying to figure out why it would not import"

I suspect the author is not fully aware of how a LrC Catalog functions and thinks the import is going to the same folder where the Catalog resides.
