Hi
I'm running Lightroom CC 2015.8 and Camera Raw 9.8
I've loaded my D500 RAW files to disk using the Nikon transfer app and then imported the files to Lightroom, where I get unexpected end of file messages.
Looking at the files via Finder on the Mac they start off looking OK but after a while (and I don't know what triggers this) I lose a strip on the bottom of the landscape and side of the portrait orientated shots an image is below
The files look fine on the camera and converting to JPEG in camera allows me to see the whole image in lightroom but as the JPEG ... not what I want.
Any help please
The Mac and the Adobe are all unto date and not showing any updates required.

1 Correct answer
It is the Nikon Transfer app that is doing this. Stop using it and use LR to import the images into the LR catalog file and place them on the hard drive of your computer.
This is a Known bug, IIRC, in the Nikon software. It changes the images some how so LR can't read them.

So a little further research I find the following
Mac OSX only supports D500: Nikon RAW L format .... just what this means is a little vague in my mind.
Cos on my machine that mean it does not support
Uncompressed or lossless compression
It seems on current experimentation to support 14 bit compressed only.
This file is then readable by Lightroom and I don't get the Unexpected end of file messages.
