So I have just finished pulling my hair out because I cannot figure out what is going on here. I was using Lr this morning just fine, and this afternoon got an update and now when I go to import any pictures I can select the folder they are in and as soon as I do it quickly wipes all the file names and boxes out in the main window. I get no preview thumbnails. I have to right click to force an import. Now when the image is imported I can only see it in develop mode but have no live image in the navigator box regardless of image scaling. WTH? I'm so beyond frazzled. Anyone know what the answer is? I have uninstalled, reinstalled both Lr as well as the gpu drivers. Even rolled back a few driver releases. Nothing working. all images are nikon .nef raw. computer is running Windows 7pro 64bit, i7-4790k, 32gbs ram and an AMD r9-290x
Lr version is cc 2015.12
this afternoon got an update
Do you mean you did the update to LR 2015.12 or something else? A Windows update?
now when I go to import any pictures
Are these new photos, or are you trying to import 'old' photos to the catalog a second time?
Lightroom does not allow importing a second time and the Import window will 'grey out' thumbnails that are already in the catalog.
I can only see it in develop mode

This is often an indication that your monitor screen profile has changed or become corrupted for reasons unknown. Maybe a Windows update!
Follow directions in this link to test this possibility- https://www.lightroomqueen.com/articles-page/how-do-i-change-my-monitor-profile-to-check-whether-its...

the update was to 2015.12, subsequently I also got a driver update for the gpu.
The way I was importing was from the HD, I generally group all my nikon photos directly from my camera into stand alone locations on the 2nd of my 3 HD's. And from there import the ones I want to work on into Lr.
You are a wizard Ninja! I didn't even think to look at the monitor profile as I thought this was a software conflict between Lr and the Hardware. I had NO monitor profile after the update (which I've never seen before) and re installing a profile solved my problem completely!
SOOOO Many Thanks!
