Hey guys   I have spent so much time looking for an answear to this, any help would be great.

I am new to Macs, I want to run light room on a desk top. I've been running it on my iPad and would like the other options that the desktop version offers.

I'm a hobbyist photographer, maybe 20 to 30 photos a month lol mostly just landscapes but would like to be able to focus stack and stuff.

I found in my area a early 2015 MacBook Air for almost nothing. 150.00

 It has i5

16 gig of memory ddr3

128 hard drive.

running Monterey 12.6

i would be running it to a external monitor.

Can I run the latest Lightroom this?or even a older version.

as you can see, my work flow is next to nothing so it doesn't have to be lighting fast.

  Any help would be great

The biggest problem you will have is with the absolutely tiny internal SSD. That is barely enough to install the operaring system. You probably should buy a good size USB-based SSD - like 1TB. This machine prrobably has USB-3.0 ports so make sure you get one that fits. Put the catalog and images on it and you should be able to work. Will be pretty slow but should work.
