Hi,
I have a focus stack of 40 files in lightroom Classic and after selecting them all I select "open as layers in Photoshop". This opens the photoshop program but it just opens and sits at the home tab and does nothing.
Im on a M1 macbook air with updated OS I also have the latest Camera raw, PS and LRC installed, after my failed attempts I deleted are re-installed PS and LRC, this still hasn't solved my problem, I have also reset my preferences on PS. I kind of a new user to PS and LRC So any help would be appreciated. I have noted that people have found solutions to this problem in the past bt that was several years ago.

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. To help us better understand and troubleshoot the problem, could you please share the following details?
System Info for both Lightroom Classic and Photoshop, put them in a text file, and attach it here
(You can find this under Help > System Info in each app)
File type and approximate file size of the images you're working with.
What happens if you try the "Open as Layers in Photoshop" option with just 5 or 10 images instead of 40? Does it work with a smaller selection?
This information will help us narrow down the cause and guide you more effectively.
Regards,
Srishti

"I deleted [and] re-installed PS and LRC, this still hasn't solved my problem"
The connection between LR and PS is very sensitive to installation issues.
Try uninstalling *all* Creative Cloud apps using the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool:

Then install PS first (very important) then LR Classic. You won't lose your LR catalog, preferences, or presets.

Thank you for your response, Unfortunately it still did not work. I will probably just get Helicon Focus stacking software and be done with it.
