P: Import from Another Catalog... trashes last edited dates

This is what I consider a bug, but could be more like a poor design issue or oversight. I reported the issue five months ago, but there has been no action from the developers.

 

So, here is a warning to all LrC users. If you use Import from Another Catalog..., expect to lose your last edited dates for the images you are importing. For images that have keywords, the last edited date will be set to the date you did the Import from Another Catalog... process. For all other images, their last edit dates are effectively "deleted".

 

Here are two example screen shots: first from my main catalog showing the Recently Edited smart collection with 2 images and a With Keywords smart collection having 3099 images.

 

The second screen shot is after importing my catalog into a new empty catalog. It shows the Recently Edited smart collection with 3099 images (the two that were originally in that smart collection are not there because they had no keywords).

 

This should fixed because it's compromising the integrity of the LrC catalog; it is becoming a real problem for me.
