Performance Issue with Face Recognition in Adobe Lightroom Classic

Explorer ,
Sep 11, 2024 Sep 11, 2024

I’m experiencing a performance issue with Adobe Lightroom Classic. All of my photos (over 150k) are stored in network folders, organized by year, month, and date. When I try to view photos by faces, all the face boxes initially appear grey. After waiting 2 or 3 seconds, the boxes are filled with the corresponding faces. However, most of the time, when I scroll up or down, it takes more than 5 seconds for the boxes to load. Additionally, sometimes the faces aren’t displayed unless I hover the mouse over the grey boxes.

Is there any way to improve performance in these cases?

Thank you for your assistance.

Hey EiPiKlein,

I'll need more details to help you.

What version of Lightroom and macOS are you working on?

Could you please post a video recording of the issue?

Please share the system info of Lightroom Classic from Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > Upload as an attachment here or copy/paste here in reply.

Optimize the Lightroom performance and see how it goes:

Thanks,
