Dispite all the tune up and adjustments tips, Lightroom Classic, especially when also running Photoshop is performing dismally.
After a few operations on several photos, LR stops responding to edits, or even stranger, shows the edit taking place filmstrip but NOT in the main panel when in Develop mode. The problem becomes more accute when attempting to edit larger files such as a panaroma.
My Intel Windows 11 computer with 32gig of memory ran fine until the last few series of upgrades. The windows task manager shows LR is utilizing over 60% of memory.
The only solution to the problem is to shut LR and PS (if running) down and restart my computer.

Notice I moved exposure to +4.47 but change is only reflected in the film strip below.

Here's what happens when I do a simple crop:
Close the crop "tool" and the action is reflected in the filmstrip but the photo in the Develope panal is not cropped. I will close LR and restart and the photo will be cropped as wanted.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut out as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs and it takes up vast amounts of scroll space making the reply less readable and less likely that others will bother with your post.

Dedicated GPU memory used by Lightroom: 133.8MB / 128.0MB (104%)
Graphics Processor Info:
DirectX: Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 (30.0.101.1273)
Init State: GPU for Display supported by default with custom image processing support
User Preference: Auto
So apparently an integrated graphics card, and as such no VRAM?

Does going into /preferences/performance/ and turning off use graphics processor help?
And you may want to consider:
hmm, that link leads you to:

Your graphic device is powerful enough to run LR and PS smoothly.
I would in a first step try to switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue.
Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.

In the longer term you should update your computer with an more powerful graphic card. If you use a notebook, it will be difficult or impossible to upgrade it. The only option then is to purchase a new more powerful device.

I will be away from the machine for 1 month. Will try suggestions on my return.
Sorry for the delay

After almost 2 months absence from this thread of problems I've been experiencing in LR Classic, I want to return to the issue.
I have changed the configuration of my computer. I have doubled the system memory from 32g to 64g. I have changed the "Camera Raw Cache Settings to 100g and placed it on a SSD drive. And I have added a GPU (MSI GeForce RTX 3060 VENTUS 2X OC Graphics) with 12g of memory.
Overall performace of the machine seems to be better but I'm not running benchmarks here.
The problem of LR Classic correctly displaying an edited photo seems to still exist.
The following happened after exporting a photo to PS, changing the sky and saving.
Notice that the image appears correctly in the Filmstrip but not on the main screen or in the Navigator Window:
Sychronizing the folder does not fix the problem. Shutting LR down and restarting does fix the issue.
Suggestions please.

Aghhh, re-looking at that screenshot. Is that filmstrip thumbnail showing a stacked image? Are you looking at the correct image?

I'll work backwards from your request:
Here's LR, after my edits.
From here, I do a right mouse click and "Edit In...." Photoshop 2024. It goes to PS Beta. I'll then perform a sky replacement.
PS at Sky Replacement Step:
Photoshop just before "File, Save"
I feel like the patient that went to the dentist with a tooth ache. Of course, as soon as he sat in the chair, the pain went away. This time, the process did not fail. I performed the sky replacement, and just saved the results in PS. I saw in LR that everything worked as intended. Then I went back into to PS, Merged the Visible layers and saved as..... the resuts. That worked fine also.
This is strange. If my problem occurs again, I will come back to this thread. Any suggestions you might have for capturing useful diagnostic information is appreciated.
