Does anyone know of a presentation remote that actually works with slideshow? I hope to use my Mac Air (High Sierra) do do some camera club presentations this year and need a remote - so far no luck with any that are configured for LR.
If not many suggestions gratefully received as to what is the best software for Mac to export a slideshow to?
Thanks

There are apps that you can use to drive your presentations from your smartphone. I've used the free version of: HippoRemote Pro — Wireless Keyboard, Mouse, Remote Control and Game Controller for iPhone and iPod touch
There are many others out there as well - perhaps other ACPs will chime in with their suggestions. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks cmgap - I am aware of various apps but not sure if any of these actually will drive a LR presentation, and when you are bounding around the room a phone is not the easiest item to handle

True enough... I've moved away from slide shows and use Adobe Spark pages now for almost every presentation... Let's see if other Lr slideshow users chime in with suggestions. I've gone down a few bunny holes looking for a good answer and haven't found a useful suggestion : (

Perhaps a not so elegant alternative would be to create a fullscreen PDF slideshow using Lightroom. Then any wireless device that will control like a mouse can advance the images. Not fancy, but it will work.

If you have a Mac Air you really do not want to use Lightroom for presentations. Your computer comes for free with keynote, which is superb presentation software that will do far more justice to your images than Lightroom's slideshow module. There are other for pay options on all platforms that are a lot better than Lightroom's slideshow. I love lightroom but this is not the best part of the program.

Thanks, I was thinking of Keynote but have not really used it being wedded to PWPT for many years - need to have a deeper look at this.

I have little success running Lightroom video slideshows. There does not seem to be a manual way of controlling the video (other than 'pausing' the video).
If you 'Play' the slideshow from the Lightroom Slideshow module, I might suggest a wireless Keypad.
With numlock 'off' the keypad keys work as the 'arrow' keys to advance forward or reverse.
I have used my wired Swan-Multi-keypad several times in this way. One catch is that 'cross-fade' is not available.
For workshop presentations I prefer MS-Powerpoint where my Logitec presenter works well. And I love my Microsoft wireless display adapter that eliminates all cables from laptop to projector.

Yeah powerpoint works OK too although I believe it is not color managed correctly in windows. It is on Macs. Keynote is perfectly color managed. Of course projectors at these clubs are seldom calibrated well so that really doesn't matter much.

At the end of the day 'slideshow' is not presentation software - i am just being lazy as all the images are present and it is easy to create. Keynote it is which should work with a Satechi remote. Thanks for the thoughts

Ha of course key note in High Sierra does not work with Satechi - so now need a new remote...

Really? That’s just a Bluetooth remote right? If it has forward and reverse buttons it should work.

True but it does not seem to want to work with High Sierra on Keynote - no idea why

Strange. Normally it just maps these buttons to the arrow keys on the
keyboard and it works fine in powerpoint and keynote.
