Presets not appearing in Lightroom Classic on macOS Tahoe (all steps tried)

Hi everyone,

I’m running into a persistent issue with Lightroom Classic on macOS Tahoe (macOS 26), and I’d really appreciate your help or confirmation if anyone else has experienced this.

The problem

When I try to import .xmp presets into Lightroom Classic:

  • The import dialog says:

“Unable to import presets – all items were already imported”
  • However, no presets appear in the Develop → Presets panel.

  • The Manage Presets… option is greyed out.

  • The .xmp files are valid and readable (I checked their XML content).

What I’ve already tried

I’ve gone through a lot of known troubleshooting step, find on the web also tried some help from Chat GPT including:

  1. Completely uninstalling Lightroom Classic via Creative Cloud.
  2. Manually deleting every leftover folder:

~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/
~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.LightroomClassicCC.plist

and reinstalling Lightroom Classic from scratch.

3. Placing .xmp files in multiple locations to test:

  • Lightroom/Develop Presets/TestPresets

  • CameraRaw/Settings

  • CameraRaw/ImportedSettings

4. Verifying “Store presets with this catalog” is unchecked.

5. Ensuring “Show Partially Compatible Develop Presets” is enabled.

6. Restarting the app and macOS after each change.

Still, Lightroom reports that presets have already been imported but none are visible in the panel.

System info

  • macOS 26 Tahoe (fully updated)

  • Lightroom Classic (latest release via Creative Cloud as of October 2025)

  • Clean reinstall, new catalog, no synced settings from Creative Cloud

  • The issue happens with both my real presets and simple test .xmp files.

Questions for the community

  • Has anyone else faced this problem on macOS Tahoe?

  • Is this likely a known bug or a compatibility issue with the new macOS?

  • Or could there be a configuration I’m missing?

  • If anyone has a working fix or workaround, please share!

Thank you in advance for any insights.

I’m hoping this can help not just me but others upgrading to Tahoe who might face the same issue.

Thanks a lot.

I don't know if this is the problem, but LrC is not certified on Tahoe.
