Previews are too light

LR Version :13.0. Imported photos from iPhone 15

The previews of imported files are rendering way too light.

Only after zooming in on the image in Loupe view will the correct exposure show, but after doing further edits it will revert back to the overexposed view.

-rebuildong previews did not change anything

-importing photos into a new or an existing library did not fix the images

-the same images look fine in the Mac Photos app.
-the photos that appear too light in LR export fine. Its only the thumbnail and loupe view that are too light

Any ideas?

Would be nice to see the Histogram

I suspect that these in the Library Module (first screenshot defiantly Library) ,  how do they look in the Develop Module? Library Module not the best place to review tonality, etc. And if reviewing in Library Module, tyically zoom in to 1:1, otherwise you might not see reality.

In develop mode the images that are too light stay light for a moment, then change to their correct exposure after one second. But changin to crop mode makes them too light again, and if I try to synch several images they all become overexposed and revert to overexposed.
I've never encountered anything like this in LR.

Two screen shots of the same image.
Clicking on a thumbnail that looks good in the Develop module cuases the image to change and become lighter.

Zooming in restores it to its correct color. This happens repeatedly when selecting the image.
