Problem importing folder contents ,MOV and .CR2

I have tried to import some files (98) from an external drive into an existing Ircat a folder of photos, mostly raw files (.CR2). Withing the sequence stored on the drive are three video's (.mov). All the CR2 files in the sequence before the video files (48) imprted into the Ircat normally. The first of the three videos also imported as normal. The following two video files and all the subsequent CR2 files do not import with an error message that "LrC does not support  this file format." At the end of the sequence a group of 10 jpeg files also imported normally.

Elsewhere in the same catalogue there are a number of .mov and CR2 files all of which have imported and function with no issues.

Can anyone explain this issue and offer a solution?

There have been a few reports about importing problems when images and movies are present. Have you tried selecting the CR2 files only and import those, then in a second import action selecting the movie files?

I have probably committed a list of errors too long to discuss. However following a fairly major hardware malfunction many of my photo source files and folders became "jumbled". None were lost but I had no single drive space big enough to take all the data so the repair was done (by others) by splitting the folders amongst other drives with space. No data was lost in the process and as far as I can tell no corruption occurred as all files work perfectly in their temporary locations.

I have purchased a new 2TB Crucial X10 external drive and here possibly made my first error in that I did not realise I needed to format it for Win 11. That said I spent several hours (days actually) relocating the data files back into the correct logical sequences on the new drive.

All the individual files copied to that X10 drive with no reported errors. The problems have arisen after importing the X10 data to LrC. All of the files unrecognised in my the new X10 Ircat function perfectly if I access them from the X10 drive directly (not via LrC).

One other thing I notice since the original post here is that some of the folders in the catalogue which were all imported from the X10 at the same time do not show sub-folders even though sub-folders exist in the X10 source drive.

Is it possible that my X10 is not linking properly because it was not formatted or is that unlikely. My problem is that I have use PS & LR for many years without trying to understand what is going on "under the bonnet".

My intention is to establish the X10 in fully working order with LR & PS before I clear the old internal drives and copy the X10 to an internal drive for future main use and the X10 will become a secondary backup.

I apologise for the length of this but the path to this problem has been quite long!
