Hi.
I would like to submit feedback regarding Lightroom Classic on Windows 11 with an RTX 3050 graphics card.
When performing Denoise in the background while viewing the Develop panel, the screen occasionally flickers.
Additionally, when applying multiple masks to an image, severe lag occurs not only for that specific image but also for all images in the filmstrip.
This issue began at some point after a Lightroom Classic version upgrade, as it worked fine during the initial period of using the RTX 3050.
Despite attempts to resolve the problem through graphics driver updates and Lightroom version upgrades, the issue persists.
I suspect this may be due to memory leaks or similar bugs, and I believe it requires further investigation.
The performance degradation significantly impacts the workflow, especially when working with multiple masks or performing background tasks like denoising.
Your attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated, as it affects the overall user experience and productivity when using Lightroom Classic on this hardware configuration.

Hey, @Choi Sun. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out.
Does Lightroom slow down after a series of steps, or operations? Is Sync enabled in Lightroom Classic?
Please monitor the Task Manager to check for any unusual read-write operations, temperature spikes, or Ram usage.
As primary steps, try this:
Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

There are no additional monitors, and all settings mentioned in the link, as well as performance settings recommended by Adobe, have been applied (as a former system administrator, I'm confident that the settings are impeccably configured).
This issue did not occur when using a lower-performance graphics card, so it was expected to be resolved through Nvidia studio driver or Lightroom updates.
However, I'm providing this feedback because the symptom has persisted for a long time.
Since it hasn't been resolved and I think it might not be solvable, I'm planning to simply upgrade the graphics card.

Do you have installed the recent Studio version and not the Game Ready version of your NVidia driver?
If no, goto Nvidia's site and downlaod and install the Studio verson of the driver.
If you have buldin a CPU with an internal graphic processor disable the processor internal graphic card.
To disable use the Device Manager on Windows. In the Device Manager, right-click the card's name and choose Disable.

Of course, I'm only using Studio drivers, and the method you mentioned of disabling the integrated graphics doesn't solve the issue either. Even if disabling the integrated graphics were to resolve the problem, for someone who also uses Premiere Pro, being unable to utilize the additional hardware acceleration, which should naturally be available, is an issue that Adobe should certainly address.

Have you made any changes in the Nvidia control panel. Perhaps related to Power Settings, and specifically for Lightroom Classic, not for general??
Also any changes for Resolution or refresh rate that are odd (and probably specifically for Lightroom Classic)
If you have never entered the NVIDIA Control Panel, and have never made changes in their specifically for a application like LrC, then probably not.

As a former system administrator, I'm well-versed in this area and can confidently state that all related settings are at their default values with the default refresh rate, and I'm using studio drivers. Furthermore, I'm certain there are no suspicious hardware components or settings that could be causing issues.

Have you tried resetting LrC preferences?
Have you tried reinstalling All Adobe apps including using the Adobe CC Cleaner toolhttps://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html ? A regular uninstall and reinstall of LrC through the Adobe CC app does not reset preferences.
Is you antivirus set to exclude all LrC files and folders as well as photo image files?

Yes. Of course, I have already excluded all folders accessed by Adobe apps and Lightroom (including cache and RAW). Reinstalling Windows does not solve the issue. This seems obvious because when Denoise, which puts a heavy load on the graphics card, is creating dng files in the background, only the image displayed in the Develop panel flickers. Additionally, after creating multiple masks with high values, other images in the filmstrip start to lag as well. Isn't it reasonable to suspect that this is a compatibility issue with the graphics card?

I did not ask about re-installing Windows, I asked about uninstalling All Adobe Apps, then using Adobe CC Cleaner to rid your system of potentially problematic remnants. I strongly recommend that.
Have you tried resetting the LrC preferences?
In my new Win 11 home built system, I am using an Intel I7-14700K, 64GB ram and Nvidia RTX 3070TI. All operations are fast and smooth as silk. AI denoise on 45MP files takes 11 sec. I have no experience with the 3050. A search of this forum for 3050 might turn up others with a similar issue. If it were my system, I would try a different GPU.

The method I mentioned, reinstalling Windows 11 (24H2), refers to repartitioning and formatting the disk, then installing everything from scratch. It's an even more thorough approach than the cleaning method you suggested.

Still, have you tried resetting the preferences? Asking for the third time.

I performed a clean installation of Windows and Adobe software, new clean catalog and preferences. The issue occurs during tasks that heavily burden the graphics card, leading me to believe it's either a compatibility problem with Lightroom or an issue with my graphics card(3050). However, replacing the graphics card is not intended as feedback for bug fixing. I reported this because I think Adobe should be aware if it's a bug or a problem with graphics cards below a certain performance threshold. Since there are no issues with any other my apps or programs, purchasing an identical graphics card for testing is not my responsibility but Adobe's. That's why I'm submitting a bug report.

I never have any unusual performance issues with Lightroom unless AMD or Adobe does something to break it. Otherwise it works fine. I don't know what's going on NOW, but on Win 11 24H2 and the latest AMD drivers/software, whenever I open LR, things slow down, everywhere. Opening a tab on my browser is a bit slow, changing photos in LR is slow, changing modules in LR is slow. Even the text seen in menus is slow to load (it's like it fills in the text of a LR menu little by little)....it's strange and annoying, whatever it is now. There tends to be a habit of blaming the end user and/or his/her computer, but all I know is, something changed recently and now the performance stinks. It was fine just a few days ago or whenever the last time it was I edited. I didn't break it 😉 There were some Windows updates and .NET updates 10 days ago on my PC, but I'm pretty sure it was working fine even after that because if this had been going on for 10 days already I would be even more upset. I'll just have to wait for whoever broke it to fix it.

Since I hadn't changed anything recently, I assumed it was something with Adobe...and I must have been right because this solved my problem (new update I noticed today). In the meantime though, I did take advantage of the situation and went ahead and bought another internal 2.5" SSD I dedicated to my catalog and cache, so that will speed things up as well. Anyway, I'm all good now after the update.

Due to another member having an issue. (Not the same issue) I should inquire. Perhaps open up your computer, and inspect the 8-pin power connector to that GPU. Even though this GPU is not one of those newer very high power units that need special power connectors, nor have a tendency to melt (the power cable) check it for damage.
Yes this is odd, rare, and unlikely But something to inspect and eliminate.
