can we please come up with an alternative setting adjustment other than sliders? sliders I go back-and-forth over the exact setting I want back-and-forth back-and-forth back-and-forth 1000 times if I could just hit the up and down key to put a numeric value in I could precisely do what I wanna do in a fraction of the time sliders are not precise and stupid I'm going back-and-forth trying to set it to zero or zoom into 100% and I'm at 98.9 102.5 I want 100 why can't this thing figure out the number I wanna go to if I could type it in but no. when you click the slider it doesn't highlight the number box you have to go there and do that separately when you click the slider the number box should be highlighted and when I type it should type in the number and when I touch the arrow keys it should've just only that slider.  who wants to switch between pictures when you're in the develop mode what the duck!(I guess this is geared towards kindergarten children.)  I don't even understand this I'm an amateur I guess I don't know but I want these arrows keys to adjust the sliders not the mouse the mouse is the stupidest thing pucking quicke keys are the best thing in the world mouse stupid quicke keys best up and down arrow put a number value in awesome.  sorry if that makes partial sense but I think you can get the gist

Perhaps a class at say the local Jr College may be called for. Their may also be classes at local photo stores, clubs, or organizations. The courses are often structured into various parts, starting with A Basic Introduction, then Middle level, and advanced. And of course, at a good bookstore you will find proper material on how to use LrC.

still doesn't make sliders not stupid just like the tracker on YouTube for videos the same video as the same length slider for no matter how long it is a 10 hour movie or a 30 second video has the same slider that's what's wrong with sliders just like scrolling books were better than scrolling stupid sorry class isn't gonna help that. Again helpful solutions that don't answer my question are not helpful

If you have been using other zoom values than 100% or Fit view, it is difficult to drag the slider to 100%.

Double-click the slider to zoom to exactly 100%.

See this thread for various ways to adjust the sliders for editing.

can we please come up with an alternative setting adjustment other than sliders?…trying to set it to zero or zoom into 100%…

Multiple alternatives already exist, you just have to use them. If your example is wanting to get to 100% zoom immediately, the slider isn’t the way, because a slider is for rough adjustments (that is true in any program). You said you wanted to "say no to sliders" so there are several different ways, using the mouse, menu, or keyboard, that have already been available to you in Lightroom Classic for many years. All of these are actually less work than clicking and typing "100%" because they are one-step solutions:

You can click "100% in the Navigator panel.

You can choose "Zoom to 100%" from the View menu, or you can press the keyboard shortcut shown next to that command.

You can press the spacebar or the Z key, because those are both single-key shortcuts for the command View > Toggle Zoom View. What that does is instantly toggle between the current magnification (whatever it is) and 100%.

You might find that the thousands of working professionals who use this software would disagree with you. But that's because they didn’t get stuck using only the zoom slider in the toolbar at the bottom of the window (which I never use, I don’t like it)…they studied the app and understand that magnification controls — especially direct shortcuts to 100% — are offered in several ways in several places to fit your working style.

What I do in the Develop module is:

  • If I want an arbitrary magnification, I hold down the Shift key and drag left or right on the image because I want to set that visually, not by fiddly typing.
  • If I want 100%, I hit the spacebar or press the keyboard shortcut for View > Zoom to 100%.

Those aren’t the only ways, but those are the ways that fit the way I like to work. Some people use the Navigator panel all the time, others only use keyboard shortcuts. Study and understand the whole application first, then pick the way you want to do it.
