I ht Auto in the develop module and it takes several seconds before anything happens. I hit R to go into crop mode - same thing. I am on an M1 Macbook pro with 64GB of memory. This has never happened before.
Help?

It's practically impossible to work here... I've even created a new catalog and it's still slow...

I have the same issue.. a lot of functions have a serious delay.. rate a photo, doesnt show for minutes. Right click for menu, shows up minutes later. I tried turning off sync and anything that might be slowing things down but no change. On Windows 11 so not a specific system issue on our end.

Here it's also slow. 64GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor 3.40 GHz and yet Lightroom can't handle photo libraries and photo editing.

It is painfully slow running either of my all NVMe systems. An old Threadripper 2950X 16C/32T workstation with a Vega 64 and 128GB DDR4 3200MT or my "gaming" PC with a 5700X3D, 5700XT, and 32GB of DDR4 3600MT. Something is seriously broken with Lightroom at the moment as lightroom doesn't really exceed 16GB of RAM usage on either PC.

Trying some things.. paused sync and let it sit for a few minutes. Seems that helped speed things up so maybe it's all related to sync with the new catalog structure. This FAQ talks about the UI changes recently..

But in all, not sure when all the behind the scenes processing will be done. I cleared up any sync issues and it still is uploading and downloading behind the scenes non-stop.

Having the exact same issue. Using a M1 Max Macbook Pro and LrC only seems to use a single processing core. Its unusably slow. I hope adobe fixes and stops breaking LrC with these updates.

Same here. Moving files, updating thumbnails, deleting, processing all running far slower than with last update. Windows 10, i9, 64g RAM. OS, catalog, and images each on separate SSDs direct on MoBo. Friend of mine has same issues on latest iMac.

Yes, I uninstalled it (Keeping preferences and after backing up my catalogue). Reinstalled 13.3.1 and its much faster and smoother.

I've tried this a few times, and it's a very temporary solution. It goes back to being incredibly sluggish.

It's still working fine for me. Not upgrading til I see its safe.

Same issue and I when I create galleries the images do not upload. I have a Mac Studio with M1 Ultra Chip and OS is Sanoma.
Additionally when I try and mask subject or background I just get a blotchy mess of a mask.

This was happening on 13.3 too. Apparently you need to leave the app open for half an hour or sop then you can work on it.

I have the exact opposite experience. If I restart it, it runs fairly quickly for about 20 minutes and then starts to bog down. I usually leave Lightroom open all day long so I don't see that your suggestion works at all on my end.

Same here. I need to restart Lightroom every now and then due to the "clogging"

I have constant hnag ups waiting for it to pause whatever its doing in the background. It's actually causing work delays now and making it hard to do any work with inconsistent behaviour.

I am in panic mode now because I have a deadline and LIghtroom is responding to commands occasionally. Sometimes it just sits there and acts like its doing something but nevere execute. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, pleae add a Master Kill switch that will stop whatever Lightroom is doing and allow me to actually get work I need to get done before my deadline! This needs to stop.
