Shutting down spontaneously

Latest version of LR Classic, March 23 2023.

LR has been shutting down spontaneously. I get a error message from LR, it shuts down, and disconnects the hard drive.

Afterwards, the hard drive will not turn on.

At first I thought it was an external hard drive failure, but it just happened again on a second drive.

There seems to be some corruption in the software. Anyone else having this problem?

Lightroom Classic (or any other software program) cannot disconnect or corrupt drives. Can you explain further what you see that indicates the drive has been disconnected? What do you mean that the hard drive will not turn on? What happens if you wait five minutes?
