I've imported a few thousand images to a catalog but some images show up in Library and Develop with bands of random colored lines.
I've tried all the options for graphics processors, no change. Rebuilt previews, no change.
However, if I edit the image in Photoshop or view in explorer the image is fine. It only happens in Lightroom. If you looks closely you can see there is a subtle difference between Library and Develop.
If I export from Lightroom the same lines are then visible in the exported file in any image viewer.
Happens with all image formats, from all cameras. Latest graphics drivers installed (using Intel UHD630 on-board graphics).
Brand new PC build, no issues with any other hardware/software.
Any help appreciated, it's driving me mad!

This is a corrupted photo. The cause of corrupted photos is that you have a hardware malfunction somewhere, and you need to do some troubleshooting to isolate the cause.
It doesn't show up in other programs because the file is handled differently, usually showing the JPG preview in the file which is often un-corrupted when the RAW is corrupted.

I'm not using RAW, these are JPG files.

Hardware malfunction is the only cause of this problem that I know of.
Furthermore, Lightroom Classic does not have (and never has had, all the way back to Lightroom 1) a function that modifies the pixels of your original photos.
So, there is no logical explanation for Lightroom to be the cause. There are plenty of logical explanations for hardware to be the cause.

Turn off GPU accelration in Lightroom preferences. See if it still does this. If it doesn't there is a problem with your GPU.

Develop and Library use differing preview architecture so it would be odd to be GPU which you say you've tried messing with. You also state you don't see the lines outside LR so I can't see how it's a corrupted document. So it might be a display profile issue; recalibrate and build a new display profile and see it that helps. Odd however that if you export, the new document now shows the lines. Did you apply edits in LR then export? What if you import a 'virgin' JPEG, do NO edits and export a new copy at the same size and color space; lines?
Also go ahead and reset LR's preferences and check:

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Past that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.

So, just an integrated video control, no actual desecrate GPU?
That is why I was wondering make/model, thinking it may be a computer without GPU, OR a misbehaving GPU driver.
As self built, I assume a workstation or desktop, yet no GPU?
I ask because if you have a GPU then something is wrong. If you do not, then /preferences/performance/use Graphics Processor should be no.

Yes, no discrete graphics just onboard. GPU is disabled in preferences.
Here is a short video of some of the symptoms. I have the latest graphics drivers.

I was on a chat with Adobe support for over an hour tonight. Tried all the usual tricks like updating drivers, installing old versions of Lightroom etc.
No joy.
Next step, Intel support and then maybe RMA the CPU.

It's a long shot but check your RAM.
I once had a similar problem and it turned out to be a faulty memory module. I replaced that and all was fine again.

I've run memtest86 which found no problems. I'll try swapping out the RAM modules and see what happens.

If you haven't solved already, I had a similar issue. Turning off "Lens Correction" fixed these weird banded lines for me. Hope this helps.

You’ve posted to an ancient thread. It is highly unlikely that the issue described in this thread, though not impossible, is the same one you are currently experiencing. Rather than resurrect an old thread that is seemingly similar, you are better off posting to a new thread with fresh, complete information, including system information, a complete description of the problem, and step-by-step instructions for reproduction.
If the issue is the same, we will merge you back into the appropriate location.
Thank you!
